Faith in Times of Trouble (Coronavirus)

Iam normally not given into fears and hype about adverse weather, disasters, politics, or viruses. Because I am a highly sensitive person, I tend to keep my eye gate and ear gate pretty fortified. I can’t even watch a suspenseful (fictional) movie without feeling real stress in my body. I spent a season reading Yahoo News stories every morning for a few months and noted that I displayed symptoms of depression for the rest of the day on most days. When I stopped reading copious amounts of depressing news, my depression symptoms dissipated.

I say all of that to say — I feel deeply, and therefore can’t afford to be given into fears and hype about such things. So I chose to do the same thing with the Coronavirus. I didn’t give into the hype and chose not to think about it until I felt like I was ready. I am ready now, and here are my thoughts.

My first line of defense as a Believer is to activate my trust in God. I have an intention to spend more time in prayer about the Coronavirus and praying prayers of faith over my family, business, America and the world. I also received a very helpful prayer guide from Shawn Bolz Ministries about how to prayer prayers of faith to activate Heaven’s power in decreeing the end of this world-wide pandemic. You can find the prayer guide  here. The prayer guide outlines Psalm 91 specifically which is a beautiful and powerful Psalm of protection that can be prayed any time.

Psalm 91, New Living Translation

1.Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2.  This I declare about the LORD : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

3.  For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.

4.  He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

5 . Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.

6.  Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

7.  Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.

8.  Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.

9.  If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,

10.  No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.

11.  For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

12.  They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

13 . You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

14.  The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.

15.  When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

16.  I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

As a believer you can pray this Psalm as a prayer, insert your name, family, country, the world into these powerful lines and feel the power of God healing all of us!

Blessings,

Leslie
