Visualization

Visualization is a powerful practice that can be used in meditation. Visualization is seeing a picture in your mind’s eye and focusing on it. Like retraining your thinking and your self-talk, intentional visualization helps you rebuild your belief system.

For those of us who get stuck in maladaptive thinking patterns and sabotaging self-talk, intentional visualization can move our focus away from thinking and mental talking and into seeing. Sometimes images come with the maladaptive thinking patterns and self-talk.

For example, We ruminate on an argument over and over, watching it unfold mentally, we try to identify what made the conversation go awry, slowing down the picture in our brains looking for clues, we anticipate an event before it happens and engage in fortune-telling that brings on anxiety and panic. See? What you see mentally certainly impacts your mental health.

Visualization helps you refocus your mind’s eye on something more beneficial. Instead of using your imagination to see situations play out that bring stress and anxiety, you can use your imagination to visualize scenarios, ideas, concepts, objects, and images that will bring you peace, alignment, and healing. You will begin to attract what you see and what you focus on.
